i typically keep my affinity for bright eyes on the down low, but today i will out myself and say that i like bright eyes. maybe one reason that i dig him/them is that i listen to their records, sparingly. their catalogue is not something that can be listened to in full in one sitting, like a lot of my favorite bands. a little bright eyes here and a little bright eyes there works for me, and doesnt make me abhore him/them. for some reason though, i sometimes feel like i am much to old to be listening. am i the only one?
anyway, here is the first part of their bonnaroo 06 set.

RIP, just the band not the members.? thanks for the music and the memories!
this dude is reporting via a sub pop press release.? why the hell wasn’t included on this!

you guys check out the besties yet? i happened to stumble upon their myspace page today and the three songs they are offering up are some of the dare i say “cutest” pop songs i have heard in a long time. just cause i use the word “cute” doesnt mean that its throw away fluff. in fact they remind me of unrest, who i happen to adore, quite a bit. or maybe i just want them to sound like unrest? if you never have listened to unrest, i implore you to check them out as quickly as possible. check out perfect teeth or imperial f.f.r.r. remember to check out the besties, too.

its a damn shame that i always forget how excellent mojave 3 are until they release a new record.? these guys/lady have silently been putting out some great shit over the years.? i dont know why i always forget about them, maybe because no one ever seems to talk about them until a new record is released?? their last record spoon and rafter?was one of my favorites of the ‘03. in case you didnt know their origins begin with slowdive.? a band that i was never much of a fan of, but?every now and again i tell myself i am going to try and get back into them but alas i never do.
since i am talking about?mojave 3?now, that must mean that they have a new record out.? i picked up puzzles like you this past weekend?and i am diggin every minute of it.? its much more in the rock vein than their?previous countrified releases.? the one thing i have always loved about mojave 3 is their dreamy/california type?vibe.??as i state previously this record?strays away from that vibe but its still most excellent and highly recommended???
here is a 6 song set that neil did back in 04?at the moonshine?festival in laguana beach, ca. check their myspace page for some streaming tracks off of puzzles like you.

again, just wanted to thank the tapers that are providing us with these stellar shows. while i am not the festival type of guy, i am really quite jealous of this years attendees. i am way too lazy today to provide a track by track download. so, i am providing two songs so you can hear the quality and the whole show as a .rar file.
