the afghan whigs live in milan

Written by gregor on September 4th, 2006 in shows, tunes.

so, that pretty much sucks about steve irwin. i only watched a handful of his shows and specials, but he seemed like a really genuine person which is a trait that i admire more than any other. we should all be so lucky as to die doing something that we love.

in other, more personal news, if you happen to live in the atlanta area and are looking for some good chow i highly recommend sage in decatur. last night we found ourselves looking for a new place to eat and several failed attempts, mostly due to the fact that they were closed for the labor day festivities. so, we settled on sage, a place that has always treated us right and we were treated to probably the best chicken dish i have ever tasted.? its a special that they serve every sunday and while pretty simple, double fried with some kind of country gravy with andouille sausage, it was delicious.

todays special is a live recording by the afghan whigs entitled black soul gentlemen recorded back in 94 in milan. its a great recording, most likely from the soundboard.? in other afghan whigs news, dulli is taking a briek haitus from the singers to record four new songs with the original whigs lineup for an upcoming rhino records retrospective. pretty fuckin cool.
