whiter than sour cream and the kamikaze hearts, revisited

Written by gregor on September 21st, 2006 in tunes.

man, you cant sleep on weird al. his flow in “white and nerdy” is pretty damn impressive. who would have thought that he would still be around, and still relevant to boot sure as hell not me. i have always dug his stuff, cause the guy is talented as hell?to be honest.? i guess it makes sense cause he really fills a niche that is by no means well traveled.? theres a fine line between fuckin stupid and fuckin funny. luckily for al, he’s is?smart enough to?tow the latter’s line. idolator has his parody of r kelly’s mini epic “trapped in the closet” entitled “trapped at the drive thru.” its pretty damn funny.

i want to mention how much i have been digging the kamikaze hearts oneida road over the past few weeks. sure they have been getting a lot of buzz lately, but here’s the difference between the kamikaze hearts and everyone else. they put?out a record thats worth every piece of buzz press it gets. they are a band that you can, and hopefully will, get behind for the long haul.? they aren’t a flash in the pan, here today gone tomorrow type of outfit.? at least i hope not, for all of our?sakes.??its a wonderful record, bar none and is easily going to be one of my favorites of the year.? i can definitely envision myself listening to oneida road for years to come. oneida road is?out this tuesday, or you can order it from here. the song “deerhunter” is alone worth the price of admission.

top of your head

no one called you a failure

if you only buy three records this year, this should be one of them.? i am not fucking around.? seriously, i am not.

you betta tell somebody
