his business card was better than mine. it was bone and ivory.

its my personal opinion that its damn near impossible not to dig social distortion. i mean they got everything a less than perfect soul could love. songs about drinking, drugs, fist fights, broken hearts, tattoos, girls, run ins with the cops, etc all wrapped in what seems to be one huge hook/sing a long. plus i can appreciate the fact that every dude in social d can kick my ass with no problem.

here is social distortion playing live @ the tabernacle here in atlanta on 1025.06. thanks to the original taper!

in another edition of from the inbox here are a couple of bands that sound very interesting but have been untested outside of the provided tracks.

ariel reminds me a lot of slowdive and/or swervedriver both of which i absolutely adore. so, i definitely look forward to hearin their full length the battle of sealand.

think tank

ariel myspace

i gotta give some love to my hometown of chicago’s arks which have a new record coming out on 8.14 entitled the international. if you dig joy division, mission of burma and maybe even the fall do yourself a favor and dig right into these two tracks.

stator/asymptote

the international

arks: myspace / site

anyone have any recommendations for any other bands in the slowdive/swervedriver vein? its a genre that is sadly overlooked in this day and age. or am i just totally missing the boat?

If you are looking for a different kind of business card, a business credit card, the net can be great place to compare offers. For business owners there are many advantages to having a company card, particularly reward or cash back credit cards which help you save money.

Great. yet another example of my technological ineptitude. Otherwise, Michigan is good.

Given your query for the type of bands that are very near and dear to my heart, I would suggest the following (including some of the ususal suspects):

    Catherine Wheel
    Chapterhouse
    The Telescopes
    The Boo Radleys
    Lush
    Ride
    Pale Saints
    Seefeel

As for active bands, I would suggest:

    Autolux
    Asobi Seksu
    Voyager One

Let me know if you want any of this stuff (or some great live Swervedriver).

Anyway, thanks for the great Social D show and give my best to the family. Later.

    thanks, bro.

this (and the recent Springsteen new year’s show) ranks up there with your GBV post from the Athens show.

    keep it up!
