i am going to go out on short limb to state that i dont think any record from here on out is going to be able to stop band of horses’ cease to begin on its quest to be my record of the year. its going to take upwards of 10 or so listens for the slow burn to begin to leave its mark.
unfortunately, grandaddy suffers from the “i dont ever go out of my way to listen to em until they are shuffled through on the ipod” disease. even then, most of the time, i usually just let that single track burrow into my subconscious and not actually revisit one their records until several days later. with that said, i have been listening to just like the fambly cat
quite a bit as of late and my only one major issue with it is that its really freakin depressing. reading interviews with jason before its release didnt help matters at all either. anyone else get that feeling after a listen?

i think track 10 and twelve are repeats…i think..
sorry about that gilly. it should be cool now..
wow… album of the year???? :o
i mean i dig it, not remotely as great as the first, but seriously? AOY?
i’ve listened to it at least 10x now myself and it’s just not quite hitting me at all.. there’s not a single hook on here that comes close to The Funeral or even Great Salt Lake. that and there’s a few downright dull songs on this one too (Detlef for one).
sweet set, makes me wish i was in france…a couple years ago…at the grandaddy show
