i am so fuckin frustrated at the moment! i have been attempting to install ubuntu on my laptop for the past 4 days and i keep getting this goddamn bcm43xx error! i have hit all the boards, followed all the rules but yet it just doesnt want to load. i give up! i am not even trying to actually install it, but run the live cd. i just wanted to try the fuckin thing out. it shouldnt be this difficult, seriously. what-fuckin-ever…
two things:
1. its been a while since my primary puter was a pc so what is everyone using as their media player? i used to use foobar but it wasnt as intuitive as i would have liked and winamp was just ok. im using itunes at the moment but still not all that thrilled with it. thoughts? suggestions?
2. a year or so ago i posted a tom waits show from warsaw that now has gone missing on my end. does anyone have a copy they would be willing to share with yours truly? gracias!

wazzzz uuuuup? that never gets old. in case you or ever bored on the train, bus or wherever boredom may set in, captains dead is now optimized for viewing via your phone or at very least pda phones. i tried it this morning on my palm and it looks pretty good. it presents just the meat of the site, and allows you to download stuff pretty easily - i downloaded a 6meg song from the site in about 45 seconds. so, if you are using a 3g phone and are using a memory card you should be all good.
i was pretty psyched when i got a copy of the local anesthetic cd which is a compilation of all the seven inch singles, and then some, by the denver based/duane davis(wax trax co-owner) owned label, the local anesthetic. a wee bit of background, wax trax was founded by dannie flesher and jim nash(rip) in denver but then moved to chicago and sold the enver store to duane davis and dave stidman. wax trax, in chicago, was the epicenter of cool and spent so much money there before their untimely closing in the 90s. to say this is a great comp is bit of an understatement. its being released via smooch records or it may be available now. here’s a little taste.
