hola amigos! there’s a pretty righteous instore going on today at criminal, for those of you in the atlanta area. seminal trashy grunge party rockers, supersuckers, are playing, like i said at criminal, @ 7 pm-ish. they are part of the so-co fest thats going on tomorrow at centennial olympic park - its free and the gates open at 3 pm. the only other band that i have heard of that is performing is against me - liked their first two, the last one not so much. here’s a few supersucker tracks.

hayden’s in town and field came out a few weeks back, which i absolutely forgot about until i visited aquarium drunkard yesterday. as with a lot of records its been on the ipod, but haven’t given it much time for some bullshit reason. so, gave it a couple of spins last night and its quite good. it’s definitely not my favorite, that belongs to skyscraper national park, but it’s a nice listen. if you are a neil young fan, you will probably dig hayden.
pick up a few hayden records on eMusic. they have a 50 free download special goin on right now, btw.
i, admittedly, dont know much, outside of blister and add it up, about the violent femmes. whilst in college i used to sleep with a young lady that loved the femmes, but wouldn’t let her listen to them in my presence - yeah i used to be a major pain in the ass. so, when i stumbled across this femmes show from hamburg, germany on 2.7.84, i figured i would finally give em a chance. pretty cool stuff i must admit and for any femmes fan, which one is their best?

top of the evening, y’all. firstly, the site is going to be going through some changes over the next few weeks. so, just bare with me. secondly, for those livin in the new york area, i am indeed jealous of this, this being two performances by built to spill of their classic perfect from now which is takin place @ terminal 5 on 9.25 and 26. thirdly, for those that live in georgia, learn proper fuckin high beam, or brights as i call em, etiquette. if you see a car coming in the opposite direction on a two lane road, turn them the fuck off when you see said car coming in the opposing direction. thanks…
june 24th is fast approaching and i, for one, am looking forward to the re-release of liz phair’s exile in guyville. actually, i am approaching it with restrained giddiness. mostly due to the fact that it’s remastered, which i cant see being a good thing. fucking with brad wood’s production is, in my book, a big time sin. at least a quarter of what makes exile so brilliant is the production. anyway, here is remastered version of “fuck and run.” i have yet to listen to it.
i have had austins’ the black angles’ directions to see a ghost on the ol’ ipod for a while now, but up until a week ago i hadn’t listened to it for one reason or another. but, in my week long stint with it, i can easily state that it bests their spaceman 3/velvet underground heavy debut, passover - which was one of my favorites of 06. check em out…

i am going to be doing a weekly thing which i am going to call “the awkwardly titled: things i dont have time to get to but you should check out anyway.” so here be the first installment of said thing.

i dont know much about any of the below, but its a pretty righteous collection of 70’s funk, jazz, groove and all around weirdness that only the 70’s could have produced. some of the stuff actually sounds pretty timely, while some other stuff would make awesome personal theme music for either sweet loving making or just walking down the street. thanks to the original compiler!

yeah, ian felice sounds like bob dylan and not kinda sounds like him, but it may as well be bob. with that out of the way the felice brothers’ newly released self titled record, simply put, is freakin great. its filled with everything i love in a record, hammonds, accordions, drunken sing-a-longs, etc which all add up to the equivalent of a sounding like a traveling revue show circa 1920. very, very cool stuff.
