hola amigos! hope everyone is just lovely. i, for one, am just fine. i suppose, all things considered, i could be worse…. just wanted to let everyone know that as of about a week, broadcasterhouse.com will no longer exist, so if you have been putting off grabbing off something from there i would do it before thanksgiving. sadly, i just dont have the extra funds to keep it going. it may get brought back at a later date, who knows.
btw, its fucking cold here in herndon, va. not diggin it….
i like when complete strangers close their emails with “love” cause i have a penchant for signing mine with “xoxo.” short story, shorter, i got an email from new york songbird johanna samuels and said email was closed as such. anyway, her new ep a little bit of both is quite lovely and i love her old timey vocals. she sounds like she should be singin in daper dan comercial from the 20’s or something like that…. either way, check her out! her ep can be purchased somewhere, i suppose. check out her myspace…
holy, f’ing shit! 24 hours on a train is not as sexy as it sounds, let me tell ya. as much as i hate flying, if i ever have to come back to these parts, herndon, va, i am definitely flying. at the same time, though, it was really freakin relaxing which is something i so desperately needed and i did have my own seat for most of the trip. my own seat until about 2 am, which at the time i was sleeping and when i was awaken to move my shit, i couldnt fall asleep for most of the trip. awesome! anyway, i am here for the next 5 days. the room is super nice, and thats all i am going to say about my location, but hey, there’s a tgi fridays in the complex! btw, i watched the first two seasons of its always sunny in philadelpia on the ride, and damn that show is funny - which means it will probably be canceled shortly.
until later, here is part one of neil young and crazy horse in san francisco in 1978.
sup peoples? so, on sunday i am leaving for herndon, va for a week - which i hope will lead to a shitload of posting cause i am going to have a lot of solo hotel time to myself.
i used to be a huge fan of june of ‘44 and here they are playing on 6.27.95 @ butchertown pub in louisville. its a super nice recording, although the vocals are buried for the most part. june of 44 were never really about the vocal anyway, in my opinion. dont know who june of 44 is? read the brief wiki article.
so, on 12.9 brighten the corners is being re-released, as if you didnt already know, in the fashion you have come to expect from matador/pavement. i am listening to it as i type, and just judging it by the material, i may just have to go and say that this may be best re-release, thus far. it just may be my fanboyness talking, but regardless of its standing, it’s definitely worth your hard earned cash money. clicky the link for more info - brighten the corners info - it’s a word doc. btw, matador is running the buy early, get now dealio for this.
here they are performing at indie fest on 6.26.92. sadly, i dont have any brighten era stuff, so this will have to do. yeah, this is repost - over the next couple weeks its going to be a combination of new stuff and reposts, to be honest. need some time settling in and all that good shit…
