happy fathers day to all my fellow fathers. hopefully you all are getting the r&r you so rightly deserve. i know i am not. such is the life, i suppose.
this doesnt happen very often but in the case of eliza gilkyson’s “beauty way,” it is so perfect that i have never wanted to possibly ruin the experience by listening to anything else by her. anyone else ever do this?
here is a wonderful soundboard recording of bruce and the e street band performing on new years eve in 1975 at the tower theatre in philadelphia.

Love Bruce’s version of Pretty Flamingo
Thanks for posting!!
Yeah, Beauty Way is a gem. (I was moved to post it a couple of months ago.) You oughtta see her perform it live nowadays — she’s really putting something extra into it; makes the studio version sound bland. Don’t worry about it getting ruined by the rest of her work, though. Paradise Hotel and The Land of Milk and Honey are both excellent — go out & get ‘em.
great minds think a like i suppose. so, i listened to the album version of beauty way and i have to say its very lame in comparison. i mean its still a great song but it didnt definitely need the added instrumentation.
I love that “Mountain of Love”. Thanks for another great show.
