hey. portishead was a lot better when i was using drugs still. the record is quite good however. the scarjo fiasco is mindbending. there are actually two or three songs on it that i dont mind so much. i am a waits fan, but the idea, when it was proposed, was actually exciting to me at first. then i thought about it a little more, and it somewhat made me sick. i try to be fair. its just hard at times. i want to remain on scarjo’s side, i remember her from ghost world, when i fell in love, and i want to see this whole thing as her attempt to remain “indie-ish”, if that really is the plot, im all for it. the suits dont even know tom waits, they just wanna market her as a singer now. i feel that she hasnt lost all touch with the underground yet, so i will give her some credit. the record is kinda punk ethos buried vocals noise crap gaze. but her tits…..
post script - can you repost tom waits storytellers? im not sure how i missed it first time around. thanks, yr a peach.

…got our tickets for the Knox show last week. 20 rows back but it should be well worth it.

The new Portishead is sooooo goood. I definitely suggest you listen to it.

Thanks for the link to the Richard Buckner interview. I have loved that guy for years and to see the situation he is in now is pretty upsetting. Hopefully something will come along that will get him back in the music game full time. Also thanks for the news on Matthew Loiacono, I don’t think I ever properly thanked you but your recomendation a few years ago of the Kamikaze Hearts made me go check them out and get their records. They are now one of my favorite bands around. Kick ass day for music news I must say.
