it’s a war out there, and it’s fought by poor white men
as i have stated many times before, bands that fly under my radar fall into two camps 1. i really had no idea of their existence 2. friends/peoples have told me about a certain band and for no other reason other than my own arrogance had neglected to heed their advice. nashville’s old crow medicine show falls into camp numero dos. been told probably a hundred times that i would dig em, but well you know the rest. i’ll be god damned if i aint lovin their new record, tennessee pusher. although, i have heard from die hard fans that this is not their best (anyone attest to that), but if this aint their best then i have seriously been missin out. fuck me and my hard headedness.
“methamphetamine” - one of the best songs of the year
i got my hands on a copy of times new viking’s new matador ep, stay awake and if you are fan of noisey lo fi pop stuff, then you should probably find this to your liking. sounds as if it was recorded on a 4 track that was wrapped in a wet cloth. loud, fast and pretty incomprehensible, just like i like my ladies…

As a long time listener of the boys from the Medicine Show I can tell you that “Tennessee Pusher” is good but not the best. Anyone who digs this should check out their self-titled album, and if you can get your hands on it I would also suggest “Greetings From Wawa” it’s out of print but well worth hunting down.

P.S. Thanks for turning me on to Wilderness, I already went out and got their first two albums and dig ‘em.
cool, matthew i will definitely check those out. glad you dig wilderness, they are definitely an acquired taste. i usually dont get ga ga over drums, but the drums in “end of freedom” are fuckin awesome…
