juana molina’s un dia
i, of course, had heard of argentinean artist/ex tv star juana molina, but for some reason or another never listened to any of her work. still i have only been privy to hearing this track, which happens to be the tittle track to her upcoming record, un dia. it was recorded in her homeland of argentina and without much help, the only other artist on the record is vashti bunyan’s guitarist gareth dickson. “un dia”, the song, is one of the coolest i have heard this year. its a whirling dervish of rhythm and organic sounds that quite frankly are pretty damn hypnotic. hoping the entire record is this great….
un dia is out next week on domino. they also have a pretty cool interview with the lady herself.
