sup, go-tards? while your here make sure to check out the new sera cahoone and alan sparhawk, ex-low and now retribution gospel choir, stuff i posted over the week ends.
huh? what? pavement reunion? you gotta be kidding me? love how malkmus says he wants a one off and ibold wants to get back on that train. what the hell is ibold doing now anyway? still a ways off, 2009, but hopefully more info will unfurl by the summer.
back in 93 i was all over the gin blossoms’ new miserable experience. even to this day i pull out from time to time and dig on it. its simply just a great little pop/rock record, nothing more, nothing less. if you are around my age, 33, and deny ever singing along to “allison road” or “found out about you,” your a god damn liar.
here they are at shooters on 4.26.92, i think shooters maybe in cleveland cause they mention the flats. sorry i didnt do any research as to the venue, and i should note that its a fm broadcast. if you know where shooters is, let a brotha know.

Got to give it to you dude, I am 30 and I sung that Gin Blossoms album for about a month straight in high school. My fave tracks were 29 and Pieces Of The Night. Plus thanks for update on the possible Pavement reunion, I have been hearing rumors since Spiral said something about it a year or so ago. I swear to God if it happens I will donate my left nut to the “Lets Get Lance Armstrong Two Nuts Again Association”. Anyhow still digging the site as I have for quite some time. Nice Isbell post too. Alright I’m out.
Later
Matthew
alan sparhawk is not ex-low.
umm, do you mean low is still a viable band? otherwise what do you mean? dont be coy motherfucker.
Thanks for the Gin Blossoms show. You’re right, this show was bradcast on WMMS, Cleveland. Not everyone knows this, but there was a brief record label feeding frenzy for Arizona bands. Most of them were forgettable: Dishwalla, Toad The Wet Sprocket, etc. To me the Blossoms were the perfect American band, a perfect blend of rock, pop, country, blues, depressed introspection, and Liquor.
Hey, I just found this blog and I love it! Would it be possible to get some post Real Gone-era Tom Waits bootlegs up again? I would really like to listen to the 2006 Chicago and Atlanta shows, but the links are dead. Thanks.
Gin Blossoms sucks and always have sucked. Anyone who ever liked the band had their head up their asses and could not properly hear.
Speaking of Low, if anyone has the live version of Do You Know How To Waltz? they did with Godspeed! You Black Emperor!, please point me to it. As for the Gin Blossoms, never really cared for them, but around 93 I was still rocking out to the TMNT III soundtrack. I have a couple of roomates who think their excellent though.
@matthew, right on bro. good times…
@nigel, you ever hear of dead hot workshop? i believe they were from arizona. anyway, i loved 1001 and sadly i dont think they did much else.
@andrew, i will see what i can do
@braindo, you are awesome
@matt the gin blossoms were definitely a time period type band. i wouldnt expect anyone in their 20’s or teens to go and searching for gin blossoms records like you may do with dylan or the stones, etc. regarding your request, i dont have it, but someone may. ill be on the lookout.
actually, gin blossoms are fucking great
try listening to them instead of rejecting them because in your pathetic little indie pitchfork asshole world they’re not cool
