its amazing the shit you find when boxes are uncovered and subsequently opened. i unearthed a box full shows on cd that i absolutely forgot existed. during the mid to late 90’s i was pretty big into trading but after one unfortunate incident got soured on the whole scene. met a lot of great folks, but also a few assholes a long the way. regardless, there were probably about 100 cds in the box, but sadly not all of them in the best condition. luckily, this grant lee buffalo fm broadcast from the troubadour back on 11.16.96 was in pretty much pristine condition.

if you still haven’t checked out mighty joe moon you are absolutely doin yourself a huge disservice. i mean its only one of the greatest musical pieces ever recorded, and that may be even short selling it.

Stumbled upon your blog a few months back. GLB were one of my favourite bands back in the day. Not so fussed on GLP solo work. Saw them live once (post Kimble) and they were still pretty good. Mostly down to THAT voice. Always wished I could have seen them in their prime round the MJM era. This boot at least gives me a bit of a taste. Many thanks!

yeah, i am kinda with you regarding his solo stuff. some of it is really grand, with virginia creeper being my favorite, but some if it is just kinda ok.

Thank you so much for this show. I have loved GLB since day one and it is so hard to find any shows from them. In fact the only other show I have from them I got from your site. Kudos

Thank you so much for this! I used to run a GLB website and got to know Grant through it, he’s a very nice man and one heck of a singer and musician! Can never get enough of that wonderful voice of his so thank you for uploading these!

Much oblige; know only a tiny few of GLB songs and this post gives me the chance to find out more about their music.

    Merci!

OMG - what a great recording!!! - saw GLB in Auckland, NZ opening for Crowded House and REM back in the day, what an amazing sound a 12 string guitar and a fuzzbox could make, and then that voice … thanks for bringing back some of my favourite memories
