sad news in the magazine world today, harp is no longer. other than magnet, harp was the only mag i read on a regular basis. very sad to see it go.

hey, hope everyone had a loverly time at sxsw. from all reports i’ve been reading it sounded pretty right on. although i am convinced that perez hilton is going to be the death of something, that something i just havent figured out yet.

im thinkin bout hittin up acl in august, but for those that have attended, both acl and sxsw, i pose this question. would i be better suited just waiting for sxsw next year or is acl worth the trip? know this, i am not a huge fan of the heat… thanks for any advice, in advance.

if you are a frequenter of captains dead, you probably know, and have learned to accept that i have an affinity for the dulcet tones of harmonica and acoustic geetar. granted just cause an artist has the ability to combine the two, it dont mean shit to me. do it like my man ben pilgrim and you got me at first strum and/or blow, of the harmonica that is. like recent postee, tallest man on earth, ben pilgrim is a throw back type of chap. pilgrim lovingly intermingles the yesteryear likes of guthrie, pete seeger and dylan with today’s keepers of the torch like oldham, whitmore, etc. his ep the further adventures of.. sounds like it was recorded in the close quarters of a dimly lit cabin, creating a rustic and moody affair that would most certainly make the forefathers proud.

you can purchase the further adventures of.. via 75 or less records. chiggity check!

so, the pain has not subsided. the odd thing is is that when i do the yoga poses, thanks tualla, i really feel no pain in my shoulder blade. its when i am sitting, as i am now, that i feel the pinch. its quite obnoxious to say the least.

austin’s black before red creates the type of mood that is sadly missing in my day to day life. that kind of vibe/mood can only be felt by fully engulfing thyself into the eagles’ classic “peaceful easy feeling” or by giving black before red’s awkwardly titled belgrave to kings circle a whirl. they are really nothing like the eagles at all except they give off that cool early 70’s california vibe mixed with the “jacking the ball” era the sea and cake.
