sup, tards? anything going on this weeks end? me? i got nothin, except a whole lot of studying and hopefully a few beers thrown in along the way.
been listening to the new grand archives record for the past couple of days and have had an interesting time with it, thus far. after spinning just the first couple of tracks i was kinda left feeling a little down, but as the album marched forward, the better it got. which, of course, is usually quite the opposite of most records. still, i am kinda iffy on the first few tracks, but as the listen count rings up, i am sure i will come around. maybe i was just unfairly wishing, hoping and expecting a band of horses type record, which its not. its more carissa’s wierd than boh, which is just fine with me.
their sub pop debut is landing on 2.19.08

i got an email a while back from a dear reader, that i accidentally deleted in a mass purging of my inbox, that recommended i check out seattle’s fleet foxes. or atleast i think someone emailed me about em. never mind my shitty memory, fleet foxes bring to mind 70’s am radio, if only i had ever heard 70’s am radio. so, i guess they sound like what i think it would sound like. now, they aint retro by any means, they just got this latter day vibe to em. they recently signed to sub pop and i think you can buy their full length and ep via their myspace page - i think. man, i have covered 3 sub pop bands in the past two days. i cant deny they put out quality stuff.
