sup, peoples? we need to, as a nation, chill the fuck out. for reals. what in the fuck is going on with these shootings? moreover, what is up with these fuckers committing these heinous and selfish acts and then offing themselves? i guess its better than wasting tax payers money on a long drawn out hearing ala the brian nichols case here in atlanta. i dont, and never will understand what triggers such acts but why the fuck they have to involve other people? anyway, sad stuff.

one more thing. why in the hell our we wasting, and i mean wasting, money on these mitchell report hearings? i love baseball, more than most, but dont we have more pressing things that we should be worried about? fuckin a, i dont give a shit if pettite or clemmens or who the fuck took hgh. its a damn game! what a waste. our, or shall i say our governments priorities need to shift just a wee bit to shit that really matters.

wanna do something nice for your boy this joyous christmas, hanukkah and/or kwanza? awesome! well, i have come to the conclusion that i want to stop using google ads, just cause i think it mucks up the joint. but, and here is the problem. thus far i have ammassed like 70 bucks in adsense revenue but the payout is a hundred. so, if you could, and you dont have to of course, but if you could click on one, every once in a while, that would be great. you dont have to do anything after that, just let the page load and x it out. i am hoping that over the next few weeks i can get over that hundred dollar threshold and they would then be gone. i sure would appreciate it.

so, its official the captains dead household will be a little more hormonal come may. as my wife is looking to pop out a girl. oy! so, kids that are one, two, three or 24 are going to possibly be nailing my daughter in 18 years. awesome!

for those that missed it the first time around, i reposted the sea and cake live at dead pigeon over here. for those keeping score, i recently started broadcaster house for stuff i didnt feel like writing about. well, i am also going to use that for reposts and keep thanks for nothin as my dumping ground of random shit.

anyway, i finally got around to checking out the new black mountain tracks that have been floating around the intertubes, and needless to say i am very psyched for the new record. their debut was in my top 5 from whatever the hell year it was released. here’s the first release, “tyrants,” an 8 minute juggernaut.

here’s something you dont, or at least i dont, come across every day. an actual live recording of magnetic fields, and a nice one to boot. i have been a huge magnetic fields fan since holiday. now, dont confuse my magnetic fields fanboy status as being one that encompasses all things stephin merritt. cause quite frankly, most of everything else, not including the first 6ths record, merritt has released has left me feeling empty and sad. this is not his fault, by any means, but a lot of it is just too over the top show tuney for my liking. distortion is being released on 1.18.08 on nonesuch. sign up for the house of tomorrow mailing list for up to date info on all things merritt.

this is some very cool news. the day after his show at the 40 watt on july 9, jason isbell will be throwing the record release party for his solo debut, sirens of the ditch, at the earl in atlanta on july 10. from there he’s got a shitload of dates spanning the country so check out his new site or myspace page for further details.

one of my favorite records of the past couple of years is black mountains self titled debut. black mountain is a dirty and sexy blend of the rolling stones, velvet underground, brian jonestown massacre, and maybe even a little hawkwind. anyway, two members of black mountain, amber webber and joshua wells have teamed up and formed, lightning dust. their debut, which is fucking great, is a lot more subdued than the black mountain but no less enchanting due in part to ambers amazing set of pipes. their debut is being released by jagjaguwar, one of my personal faves, on june 19. while i dont have anything to share from said release here are some black mountain/pink mountaintops/jerk with a bomb - lead mountain(tops) stephen mcbean’s first group - stuff to whet your appetite.
