they dont sleep any more on the beach

hola, mr hand! firstly if you are ever in tennessee or looking for somewhere quite lovely to travel to/camp/fish/etc, i highly recommend fall creek falls which is in pikeville, tn. its a wee bit hillbilly-ish but its to be expected as its in the appalachian mountains for christ sakes, but the scenery and park is absolutely gorgeous. we only got to spend the better part of the day there but will probably be going back in sept/oct. here are just a few pics of one of the waterfalls and swimming holes - i had never seen a swimming hole before.

i think you guys may dig these guys, dead heart bloom. the singer has an odd delivery/accent but its nothing that should break the deal. this track reminds me of something off midnight oil’s diesel and dust, though i really cant put my finger on what it is that makes me hear that.

their debut fall in is maybe out now or sometime in the near future.

an exploration into sound

ashby.jpg

i dont know much about any of the below, but its a pretty righteous collection of 70’s funk, jazz, groove and all around weirdness that only the 70’s could have produced. some of the stuff actually sounds pretty timely, while some other stuff would make awesome personal theme music for either sweet loving making or just walking down the street. thanks to the original compiler!

these moms are desperate to find their baby daddys

malk.jpg

sup, sup? zomg! i love my renter, dearly. firstly, she couldnt pay this month because her company, which is a huge company, stopped her direct deposit so she then had to wait until the 21st to get paid. well the 21st came and went and still no rent. now, she claims, through her daughter, that she is in the hospital! she had her daughter call me, after i put aneviction warning on the door, to tell me that her mom was desperately ill in the hospital. yeah, i called her at work yesterday and wouldnt you know it, she answered! i was not shocked by any stretch of the imagination, but i still hung up for fear that i may go off. i still find it hard to believe that a mother would put her 14 year old daughter in that kind of situation. she’s truly a piece of shit.

from now on, it’s magic man and el diablo

i have been tinkering with an idea like this for some time, but i’ll be damned if it aint a major pain in the ass and undertaking. its especially difficult when there arent that many live shows of a specific artist. in any event, here is neil young’s classic on the beach presented in live form. the only song that is missing is “vampire blues” cause its only been played once and there is no known recording of it.

much love for haahnster for putting this all together.

the man and the mask

hip hop’s answer to mr release-a-week, robert pollard, mf doom is a man that seems to always have his hand into something, he’s released something like 15 records in 7 years. not unlike uncle bobby the results often vary from glimpses of brilliance to what the fuck? luckily for both, the glmpses of brilliance far out weigh the questionable. his 2003 and rjd2 produced release vaudeville villain which was released under another one of his monikors victor vaughn, is a classic record no matter what the genre.

this here is a bootleg compilation entitled doomilation and has been oop for quite some time.
