nestled somehwere in my top 5, or maybe even top 3 records of the 08 is the war on drugs most excellent wagonwheel blues. i have mentioned this records greatness in the past, but since a new track was made available i figured i would bring em up again. i can almost gaurantee that you will dig this record if you be a fan of the classics like dylan, springsteen, ccr and/or the band. maybe you just think those folks are just ok, if thats the case do you fancy yourself a fan of suicide or silver apples? if all signs point to yes, then this record is for you too. damn that was a hard sell..

one can safely assume that with song titles like “fuck you, i’m rich,” “donkey show” and “fraternity days” that the yuppie pricks have a certain social class and their much maligned lifestyle directly in their crosshairs. clocking in at a whopping minute and a few seconds, “collars up” is as punk as it comes and in the classic sense, and not in the recent crop of mtv styled pussies sense.

i dont know much about la based singer/songstress, leerone, but her email was quiet pleasant and she commended me on my “communication skills.” its obvious she has never read anything i wrote, cause i am far from articulate. still, its nice to read such things even if they are in the form of a fill in the blanks email. she’s got a new record coming out, soon i assume, entitled imaginary biographies. here be a track from said record. riyl: beth orton and/or whitechocolatespaceegg era liz phair.
