hey! what’s going on? just finished watching walk hard which was both ridiculous and quite funny. love to see tim meadows getting some work - i actually liked ladies man. his “you dont want none of this shit” scenes were hilarious, especially the weed one. i am really surprised it did so poorly at the box office. maybe john c reilly isnt the box office draw he should be. people are finicky fucks. in other movie news, my mother and i are going to see iron man this weekend - she’s visiting from chicago. my only hope for this movie is that it is fucking awesome. of course the previews make it look killer, but the previews for fantastic 4 also made those pieces of shit look pretty awesome, especially the rise of the silver surfer. anyone else going to see it? movie news, part 3 - cant wait to see tropic thunder. anyone play gta iv yet? i really want to play it, but that would mean i would have to have either a ps3 or a 360. oh well..

its amazing the shit you find when boxes are uncovered and subsequently opened. i unearthed a box full shows on cd that i absolutely forgot existed. during the mid to late 90’s i was pretty big into trading but after one unfortunate incident got soured on the whole scene. met a lot of great folks, but also a few assholes a long the way. regardless, there were probably about 100 cds in the box, but sadly not all of them in the best condition. luckily, this grant lee buffalo fm broadcast from the troubadour back on 11.16.96 was in pretty much pristine condition.

if you still haven’t checked out mighty joe moon you are absolutely doin yourself a huge disservice. i mean its only one of the greatest musical pieces ever recorded, and that may be even short selling it.

its been quite a while since i have seen grant lee in concert. with such a passage of time, i had forgotten how amazing his voice is, particularly in a live setting. this is mainly due to the sad fact that there aren’t that many glb boots out there. in fact, i have only come across a few that are even worth listening to. the first time i saw grant lee buffalo was when they opened for paul westerberg at the metro many, many moons ago. the sound was sketchy for grant lee’s set, and well paul was paul - entertaining as hell though. the second time, well lets just not mention the second time. i had come pretty undone, but even in my drunken state i will always remember the beautiful version of “honey dont think” that was performed that fateful evening.
