so, on 12.9 brighten the corners is being re-released, as if you didnt already know, in the fashion you have come to expect from matador/pavement. i am listening to it as i type, and just judging it by the material, i may just have to go and say that this may be best re-release, thus far. it just may be my fanboyness talking, but regardless of its standing, it’s definitely worth your hard earned cash money. clicky the link for more info - brighten the corners info - it’s a word doc. btw, matador is running the buy early, get now dealio for this.
here they are performing at indie fest on 6.26.92. sadly, i dont have any brighten era stuff, so this will have to do. yeah, this is repost - over the next couple weeks its going to be a combination of new stuff and reposts, to be honest. need some time settling in and all that good shit…
well, hey looky here, the fine folks at matador/domino have announced a reissue/re-fancy packaging of pavement’s brighten the corners. been wondering when this would be coming to fruition. i guess the time is now. it sounds as if they will be doing some “buy it early” type shenanigans to entice it to actually purchasing it. i, for one, always welcome that kind of stuff, plus the packaging on the first three have been pretty awesome.
one band to come out of the 90’s that i have totally lost track of is the hothouse flowers. i loved their first three records, and then for one reason or another just stopped caring. as of late i have gotten back into em, and i must contend that their stuff has held up pretty damn well.
here they are playing somewhere in l.a. back on 3.22.93 and broadcasted on kqlz 100.3.
sup, hombres and chicas? here be part one of pavement in minneapolis, mn @ the uptown bar & cafe on 6.11.92. its a 30 song set, therefore the remainder with rar/zips will be available later.
here’s some recently unearthed pavement performances from the once great 120 minutes. i remember when 120 minutes was the highlight of my week.
edit: i dont know why they have an embed code when the embedding doesnt work. when you click the play button it will take you to mtv.com. just so ya know.
i am cheating, this is a repost. but hey maybe ya missed it the first time around? also, i never said it had to be a new post! it tis pavement live at e-werk, cologne, germany on june 26, 1995
afternoon, peoples! hey liz phair is going to perform exile in guyville in its entirety in ny @ the hiro ballroom on 6.25 - tickets go on sale on wednesday. for those in chicago and san fran dont feel left out cause she’s coming your way too. i can only hope she’s in chicago between june 30 and july 7ish cause thats when i will be back in chicago, for the first time in two years. cant believe i have been away so long. sadly and surprisingly i cant say that i have missed it.
i dont have any pavement shows from this era, well now i do, so i was pretty excited when i ran across this gem from their performance @ indie fest in pittsburgh on 6.26.92. for those in pitt, is indie fest still around?
