****if you are frequenter to this here joint you know it has issues dealing with safari. i think i may have solved that issue. so, if you are using safari, or have safari handy, please try and download something and let me know what happens. just leave a comment, if you could be so kind******

sup, go-tards? while your here make sure to check out the new sera cahoone and alan sparhawk, ex-low and now retribution gospel choir, stuff i posted over the week ends.

huh? what? pavement reunion? you gotta be kidding me? love how malkmus says he wants a one off and ibold wants to get back on that train. what the hell is ibold doing now anyway? still a ways off, 2009, but hopefully more info will unfurl by the summer.

back in 93 i was all over the gin blossoms’ new miserable experience. even to this day i pull out from time to time and dig on it. its simply just a great little pop/rock record, nothing more, nothing less. if you are around my age, 33, and deny ever singing along to “allison road” or “found out about you,” your a god damn liar.

here they are at shooters on 4.26.92, i think shooters maybe in cleveland cause they mention the flats. sorry i didnt do any research as to the venue, and i should note that its a fm broadcast. if you know where shooters is, let a brotha know.

sup dickweeds? if you have been putting off signing up with amie street, you may want to rethink that because starting today they are offering up the entire beggars group, matador and polyvinyl catalogues - some, actually a lot, of which you can get for free. i downloaded 5 or 6 records, which i already had but wanted on my new computer, before getting cut off. but right now, a few of the pavement, yo la tengo, belle and sebastian, cat power discs are free and some as minimal as 16 cents. the highest a track will go to is 98 cents and if you add 25 bucks to your account you get 25 bucks, free. it’s probably worth your time…prices are rising just to let you know, but still 2 bucks for wowee zowee is a bargain..

i was and actually remain to be a huge drive like jehu/hot snakes/whatever other offshoot fan, and when a band comes a long keeping that torch alive like dragged by horses i cant help but to be a little psyched.

their new record, deep in the woods, is set to be released on 3.12 and can be pre-ordered via their myspace page.

800.588.2300 empire!

i have to thank one half of the lovely young gals that make up red/blondehead, leah, for bringing birmingham’s through the sparks and their recently released lazarus beach into my realm of consciousness.

lazarus beach is a confusing record and it really only started making sense to meafter about a dozen or so listens. lazarus beach whisks innocently by like a lazy sunday drive in god only knows, georgia. your only company are your thoughts and the songs playing on the lone am station picked up by that shitty kraco radio. its not until you get past these sun-on-your-face-not-a-care-in-the-world-peaceful-easy-southern feelings that lazarus beach begins to reveal its somewhat uneasy underbelly, not unlike the south itself. like behind every smile and open hand or in this case sunny melody there is a real sense of dread but this despondent feeling only rears its head if you let it. to compare lazarus beach, in some regards, to wilco’s summerteeth would not be out of line me thinks.

tonight or i guess this mornings offering is pavement live at e-werk, cologne, germany on june 26, 1995. anyone know if there has been any word on matador giving the remainder of the pavement catalogue the re-issue treatment as they did with slanted, crooked rain and wowee i think it would be a damn shame if they didnt.

you cant win, rock!

if you are a pavement completist, this here is supposedly their first live recording. its not so much a live “i was there” type of a recording, but a live radio broadcast that just so happened to be taped - something i used to love doing. KDVS out of stockton, ca was the originating source, by the way. honestly, its sometimes unlistenable, but its still pretty cool to have, i guess.

anyone know what malkmus, spiral stairs, or the rest of the crew is up to? i thought malkmus was supposed to have a new record coming out shortly, but can find any info backing up my supposed knowledge.

its baaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

mcrib.jpg
thats right people the mcrib is back in glorious fashion! ?everything you loved about the old mcrib is present in its current incarnation. ?hey why mess with perfection? ?kudos to? mcdonalds for achieving something that i didnt think was possible. ?they have carefully crafted the mcrib to taste absolutely no meat product that i am aware of. ?even with the mcrib tasting nothing like meat, its still a meal that should be worshipped in all its no identifiable food group glory.

in honor of the return of the mcrib here is pavement at the reading festival on august 26, 1994.
