a person remains conscious for eight seconds after being decapitated

hola, dickweeds! couple o’ things. firstly, those fucktards tried to do me in again yesterday but the fine folks @ imountain were quick to punch and thwarted their asshatery before it got too serious. so here’s the bad news, there’s going to be some necessary changes coming in the near future. while thats not necessarily bad, what is going to be a fuckin bitch is that we are going to have to say goodbye to anything older than a month or so. if there is anything you have been meaning to get, get it now. i am slowly downloading everything off my server so there is a good possibility i will be able to take requests for reposts. thats that bullshit, secondly, it looks as if i will be indeed moving to columbia, sc. i have yet to hear it officially but my sources tell me that i should get that word soon, maybe today. there’s two things i hate, well there’s actually a lot of shit, but to keep it on topic the two things i loathe are packing and moving. good times ahead…

head on over, if you havent already, to daytrotter and bask in the glory that is an everybodyfields sessions. jill’s voice sounds even lovelier live than on record, which i didnt think would be possible.

i’m not a huge fan of mashup stuff, but i think the hood internet’s melding of the 85 bears’ superbowl shuffle, wilco’s “jesus etc” and some kanye west track is pretty damn good/funny. check it!

btw, calexico’s carried to dust is so, so excellent. the production is much like iron and wine’s the shepherds dog, and while it is still very much a calexico sounding record there are large traces of los lobo’s evil but funkier cousin, the latin playboys, to be heard. awesome! definitely going to be a contender for record o’ the year, 08.

two silver trees

lick my legs: pj harvey live in cologne, germany

sometime in 92 my view of women in rock went from one of pure indifference to unabashed rock hard cockery. the change of the starchiness in my lower extreminties was all due to miss polly jean harvey’s monumental debut, dry. dry was pure aural sex to me. it was everything i never knew i wanted out of a record. this was like nailin some chick that might not have bathed in a week, but still wanted you to do the deed - if you comprende? it was/is dirty and dangerous. on the flipside, liz’s exile, released a year later, was like your high school girlfriend, a lot of talk but very little action. dry was and is everything that exile is not, pure raw passion which very few records can touch.

i have only seen pj once and that was many moons ago, but i remember that for a woman that is quite small she sure as hell gives off a persona and presence that is greater than her stature.

here she is live in cologne, germany on april 29, 1995.
