in other npr news, chick on the scene, selene, has made it known to me that npr is broadcasting live from the newport folk fest. she is in attendance of said festival and so far all reports is that its pretty fuckin awesome. the schedule today looks something like this - opens a small pdf file. calexico is @ 1.20 and gillian welch @ 2.40, fyi - all times are eastern.

sup tards? so i am off to new orleans in the a.m. i will just be there one night but want to stay some place mildly cool. anyone have any suggestions where to stay that isnt very touristy? hopefully my reason for visiting only takes an hour or so. i will hopefully have most of the afternoon to fuck around, which is my forte.
i know i am kinda over doing it with the waits stuff, but whatevs. this is two pretty cool shows played with the kronos quartet @ the shoreline amphitheater. it was part of the bridge school benefit. same setlist both nights but still cool, nonetheless.

one more show worth mentioning to ya. comet’s on fire front man ethan miller brings his other band howlin rain to the drunken unicorn tomorrow evenings. another show i will not be attending. i guess i probably could but since its the lady’s birthday should may get a wee bit pissed.
