wooden wand, and their various incarnations, can be a hard pill to swallow, sometimes. but that really shouldnt stop you from diggin into their stuff. lead wander, james jackson toth is releasing his sounds of the 70’s inspired waiting in vain sometime soon, cant find the release date. when i say inspired, i only mean inspired by some of the greats like lennon, fleetwood mac, james taylor, ccr and even the eagles - i still love the eagles. definitely check james and his wooden wand out!

those crazy kids in negativland are releasing their first song based record, ever!!! on 7.15 and they call it thigmotactic. if you are unfamiliar with negativland, click here and read up on em. they are probably best known for an incident that happened back in the 80’s involving u2 and casey kasem.

i havent listened to portland’s system and station as of yet, but i have been informed that i should like em since i dig the likes of built to spill and sunny day real estate. we’ll see about that… anyway, their a nation of actors comes out on 8.19.

i know i aint tellin you guys anything with this statement, but sometimes pop music is just to fuckin sugary sweet for my liking. there’s a fine line between annoyingly poppy and just good ol’ fashion poppiness. the very most bring the latter and they bring it bring damn nicely, i must admit. definitely recommended if ya dig the belle and sebastian, os mutantes, big star, etc
