i have been really getting into the war on drugs’ wagonwheel blues the past the week or so. i really cant describe or liken them efficiently enough to do em justice, but take my word that this stuff is really fuckin good. so good that its definitely going to be a contender for record of the year. to give ya an idea of the war on drugs’ influences secretly canadian pr machine came up with these “.. dylan and ccr, to suicide and silver apples..” definitely sounds about right.

there’s no denying the brilliance of the wu’s 36 chambers, but sadly the fell victim to what plagues many a great hip hop crew and that is self indulgence. everything since has been quite the hot mess. sure they’ve put out some other hot shit but overall everything else has paled in comparison.
