as you may or may not have noticed a lot of files arent available at the moment. i am working on uploading them at this time for i have changed hosting providers yet again. i got issues i know. i think, though, that i have finally found a home that will suit this place. i will be uploading tons of stuff today so just check back later tonite. if its older than 2 - 3 months it may not be uploaded but if you want it just contact me and i will attempt to locate it for you.
i often find myself pondering over many musical situations. one of them being, “if i could go back in time who would i go and see live?” i go back and forth, of course, but i always go back to wanting to see the band for some reason. sure, i love their music but its not like i am the hugest fan. i think its cause i find them and their place in musical history quite fascinating on many levels.
here they are playing on 8.16.76 @ the carter baron amphitheatre in washington, dc. its a lovely soundboard recording.

in other news, i am on a serious sarah silverman kick as of late. her show is so freakin wrong but i havent laughed so hard and so frequently in a long ass while - even if i feel kinda bad laughing at things like “i wish the retarded were re-smarted.”

the band were amazing. definitely a group i would have loved to see back in the day.
on a related note, ever heard the crowes sing ‘don’t do it’? it’s awesome.
Thanks for the link to the show — I d/loaded this from somewhere last year and it’s easily the best Band show never released. The performance is top notch and the sound is so sweet. (To be pedantic, this isn’t a soundboard but a pre-FM mix — it comes off the board but it’s mixed to be listened to, unlike a board which is mixed to be broadcast in a specific space with specific acoustics.)
matt i have not heard the crowes version of “dont do it” but will definitely check that shit out. mj, i was always under the impression that this came directly from the reels and was never aired. well, at least this version. thanks for that nugget of info.
Thanks for the show!
As for bands I would like to go see, I’d really really like to go back and see some vintage Zappa, if only to experience his madness in person.
thanks, capt’n! great show.
steve, i have never ever listened to zappa and for some reason i have never had any inkling to. i wouldnt even know where to start.
greg, i might have a version sitting around. if i do, i’ll let ya know
